After nearly four months of learning bamboo flute, it is apparent tha my son’s technique has made progress. It is worth praising that he sticks to practise for over half an hour everyday although most of time his practice is under my urge and supervision.
学习笛子差不多有四个月了，我儿子现在的技能还是有不少长进。儿子值得表扬，因为他每天都能坚持吹上半个多小时，尽管很多时候都是我督促和辅导他。
Anyhow, anything has its side effect. Playing bamboo flute has consumed his spare time of learning English. Last term, I scheduled a plan named “learning English ten munites everyday”. During the ten minutes, he reviewed his English book and recited some English words with my accompanying. This term things have changed a lot. I could give him revision only once after several days, and even sometimes the interval was one week.
然而，任何事情总有些负面影响，吹笛子耽误了他学英语的时间。上学期，我准备一个每天十分钟学英语的计划。在这十分钟内，我陪着他复习英语并背些单词。但这个学期不同了，几天我才能给他复习一次，有时候间隔了一个星期。
Last saterday, I sent my son to learn bamboo flute. On the way of heading there, we saw so many students who standed outside the gymnasium waiting for the employment meeting. They standed there one by one in a very long procession. We struggled to go through them.
上周六，我送儿子去学笛子。在路上，我们看到很多学生站在体育馆那里等待招聘会，他们站成了很长的一条队。我们费了好大劲才穿过去。
My son asked: “dad, why there are so many students standing there?” “They are preparing to participate in the recruiting meeting. They want to find a suitable job after graduation”, I replyed.
“Are they easy to find a job?”
儿子问我：“爸爸，怎么有那么多学生站在那？”“他们准备参加招聘会，毕业后他们要找工作呀。”
“他们找工作容易吗？”
“Not easy, particularly this year’s employment market is so severe due to current enconomic situation. But if you are a good student, you might have a better job.”
“If I am a good student and I also master a skill in playing bamboo flute, will I be easy to find a good job?”
“Sure, if you gain a certificate of technique grade in playing bamboo flute, say, a tenth level certificate, you could be an exceptional student and be treated in a special way.”
“Then I will study hard and try to obtain the tenth level certificate of playing bamboo flute.” My son answered.
“不容易，特别是今年因为经济形势不好就业形势很严峻。但如果你是一个优秀的学生，你可能会找到一个好工作。”
“如果我是一个好学生并且还会吹笛子，那么我找工作容易吗？”
“当然，如果你有一个吹笛子的证书，譬如说，十级的证书，你就会很特殊并且会受到优待。”
“那么我要努力学习，并且我要获得一个笛子十级证书。”儿子回答。
The hope is worth expecting. I know in playing music instrument to obain a tenth grade certificate is rather difficult. It needs too much time and great efforts. Although our original purpose is to develop his intersts and enhance his quality, the road for him is still very long to travel.
这种希望是好的。但我知道在演奏乐器方面要获得一个十级证书是相当难的。需要花太多的时间和努力。尽管我们最初的目的是培养他的兴趣和提高他的素质，但他依然还有很长的一条路要走。
