Today night I attended the parents meeting arranged by my son’s primary school. After having a super in a hurry, near 7 o’clock, I rode to the shool. It was a little different from those days when we attented the parents meeting. Previously we should sit in a big meeting hall where we listened to the lecture arranged by the head of this school. Those lectures generally involved the topics how to teach your children, how to develop your children’s good habits, and sometimes that topic on how to pretect your kids’ teeth. However this time was without this frill. In fact I consider this type of speech had its functions on those (including me) who do not understand fully the methods of how to deal with the children’s problem. Instead of heading towards the meeting hall, we derectly went to the classroom and sat at the chair to whose kid belongs.

The class master who I consider as a qualifed and excellent teacher opened the meeting by greeting us parents. At first he showed us the pictures that recorded the daily life of the children in the school. Some showed the reading scene, some the activities mainly the class meeting held by the class cadre. The classs master said he will pay more attention to taking the photos for his students when he considered it particular and meaningful. When the graduation time comes, he will record together those on the optical diskette then these can be used as present to his students. I thought this was a particular way that I have not seen before. I really understand now the reason why his class was hornored the excellent class as compared with his par classes.

Then followed by the parents’ speech also arranged by him. Days ago, he informed those parents who would give the speech at the parents meeting. After about one and a half hour’s hearing, from those parents I learnt much. I thought those parents have done a good job for their children. Nevertheless, fostering a kid well is not so easy. Sometimes I blamed myself for whether I have acted as a good father, and paid enough attention to my son’s studying performance.

My son has inheritted my family strain of being introverted, and he always tends to be timid. He is now in grade of three. Although his performance can not be in the top place, he is still laudable for his top-medium ranking After all, my son is a boy being docile.

It was past 9 o’clock when the meeting ended. When I came back home, my son has finished the only homework this day, a composition entitled “the parents meeting” assigned by his class master, who also is his Chinese teacher.
