Yesterday was labour day, I paid a visit to my parents home together with my son . I had not been there for nearly two months. Last visit was dated back to my father’s birthday. Although the distance between us is not far, just no more than twenty minutes, we always feel the time is not allowed us to arrange a visit. It is always true potentially we ignore our parents who care for us all the time.
At first in the early moring my father came to our home and received his grandson. Then we made a date I would pick up my son in the afternoon.
About 4:30 PM, I departed from my home, by the way buying some food as a gift. When I reached there, my father and mother all came out and felt very happy. In particular my mother seemed to be better than before. She now had a clearer thought and talked more to me.
My mother was suffered serious brain blockade(脑梗塞) five years ago, after treatment, she lost her most of ability in self service; she can only walk tremblingly as well as eat slowly by herself. More seriously, she was forfeited most of the abilility in talking. She had not a clear-cut thought since then. However today she looked a little good and constantly asked me eating some dumplings they prepared for us.
My father is also in poor nick. About two months ago, he suffered from heart problem. After checking in the hospital, the hyperthyroidism(甲状腺功能亢进) that caused the heart disease came across him. For curing well the disease a long time of taking medicine is needed. At the beginning of his poor health, he always felt spiritless and sweat-loaded even if a simple movement. After taking some Chinese herb medicine for nearly two months, he told me he felt better now. All seemed good news for me.
My parents are all peasants who experienced the ordeal in life. Although my father is not old enough to have a work such as being a gatekeeper, the need of taking care of my mother negated this possibility.
Now my parents make a living depending on the income from renting out the house. Three years ago, we bought a new house, after completed and via simple decoration we offered it to them as a means of earning money for living.
