Today my son goes to school to get his quality reprot which records his performance during this term after the terminal examination. Sereral days later after his examination, we knew a little about the results of his examination. It is the case we parents don’t know exactly the scores of the terminal examinatioin even thought we knew exactly the scores in his daily unit test.
The students quality reports only reflect the performance by using the letter, 甲,乙丙丁. Last term we almost saw all the collumns were filled with 甲, but this term we see the appearance of 乙,and some of notation of “minus”.
If my son’s study has been declining? I thought over these days. No doubt, the higher grade the students are in,the more difficulties the students will face, as noted especially by his maths teacher when I attended the parents meeting held this term at the beginning of every term.
Also, my son brings back an E-mail address of his class master, who tells the students should open his E-mail and see one of his recommendation concerning what books they should read during this long time summer vaction.
With the urge of my son, I open the E-mail on which I open the document. The teacher has recommended a list of books assigned to each grade students. There are involved in fairy story, comic books, and some famous works.
After browsing the E-mail, I by the way see the other files in this Email box. To my surprise, I find three documents related to students’ terminal examintion. The documents record the Chinese scores of the students in his class, of course including my son’s performance. My son’s score is exactly the ninety which can precisely be in the position of 甲. Several days ago my son has told me his maths test couldn’t gain the score of ninety, which is the first time that he couldn’t obtain the score of ninety during his termianl exam.
When the new term begins, my son should enter the class of grade four in primary school. He will face more difficulties and intellectual challenge. How should we parents do? We feel more responsibilties and pressures now.
