One of the themes of the Beijing Olympic Games is to realize the aim of “being green”. In my opinion, the green means environmentally friendly, that is to say, every foreign friend coming from all over the world will enjoy a crisp and clear Beijing when participating in the games or taking a tour around Beijing. It is true Beijing have made their efforts to fulfill its promise. To reduce th environmental pollution, Beijing municipal government ruled out a large number of the cars on the road just before the games to alleviate the air pollution.
Unfortunately, apart from the real meaning of the green Olympics, there comes the token “green Olymipics”. The Chinese ecomomy is still standing out on its sluggish aspects. Today the PPI (product price index) annnounced by national statistical department climbes to a new apex. The 10% increase of PPI on year on year base denotes the severity of the economic stituation.
In this article, my purpose is to focus on the meaning of green in the Chinese stock market. In the day of the opening ceremony, Chines stock market hailed the Olympics by the way of drastic tumbling in share price. The appearance of the ceremony shattered the dream of thousands of the shareholders including me. The stock market was full of the green. Today, the stock market is continuing its step, and the more greens (the appalling price declining) appear in a consecutive fashion no matter how heartbroken the shareholders are! That is the very meaning of green Olympic Games.
I don’t know why the Chinese stock market performed so bad. It is just like a mad bear who would bite everyone as long as you have the courage to invest in Chinese stock market. Comparing to American stock market, despite the crisis faced by them, they can pluck up by means of several governmental policies. However the Chines stock market became listless when bogged down.
Of course, there is no necessary relation between the stock market and the Olympic Games, however,ironically, it indeed flouts the current situation.
