After the terminal examination held on Jan 6, my son stayed at home alone during our working time. We felt piteous for him because no one could accompany or play with him. He has been released from the school one week ago. Our unit has been in the course of winter vacation from now on. Today I am on duty, therefore my son goes to the office with me. After doing his holiday homework for a while, he is playing a card game on the computer.
元月6日期终考试后，我们上班时儿子就一个人呆在家里了。没有人陪他或者和他一起玩，我们倒觉得他可怜。一个星期前他就放假了，今天我们单位寒假也开始了，因为我值班，儿子就和我一起到办公室来了。做了一会他的寒假作业，他就到电脑上玩纸牌游戏。
My son in this terminal examination obtained a less than very satisfactory result, however it met our expectation. The most discontented aspect was that he could not obtain the certificate of glory this term. Previously he would gain one or two of them at the prize party held just before the New Year’s Day or Children’s Day. We said to him he would obtain the prize if he achieved the result like his terminal examination score. It was true his previous tests were a little dissatisfied.

Why are the pupils in Wuhan city released from school so early? We learnt some comments from the website relative to Wuhan which questioned the winter or summer vacation system in the primary shool. The pupils may have the summer vacation longer than two months, and the winter vacation is also more than one month. Consequently the teachers in primary school in Wuhan usually could enjoy longer holiday than other teachers either working in college or middle high school. On the contray the situation in other areas is different. In some city or county, today is still the examination day for the pupils.
Too early vacation in primary shool really poses the difficulty for those families whose parents both work outside and that there are not the olds who could take care of their children. My family is exactly the example.

小学太长的假期确实给那些双职工家庭造成了困难，他们在外工作，家里又没有老人照顾小孩。我家就是这个例子哟。
