The accident has increased when the spring festival draws near. The atmosphere of festival is showing on the face of people and their hurrying steps. It is true the reason behind the accident was caused by many social activities. Recently, I have seen several accidents that happened around me.
The first was my elder brother, who is the husband of my wife’ elder sister, broke his two shins, and now he is still lying on the bed at a hospital. It is definite he can not come back home and enjoy the spring festival with his family. Twenty days ago, about 7:00 pm, after he closed his shop which sold some grocery, he hurried to his home, a taxi bumped him down and his leg was wounded at a cross road. The result of X-ray of the hospital showed two bones of his right leg were broken. One week later, the hospital gave him the operation. His right leg was carved open and planted the steel plate. It is estimated his recovery will be lasted at least half a year. The troublesome thing is that the peacebreaker refuses to continue paying the expense after he gave less than twenty thousand yuan. Two days ago, the hospital has discontinued the treatment for my elder brother. Today my wife and her sister will go the traffic police station to claim his right and to urge the driver paying the medical expenses. It is foreseeable the lawsuit including the affairs with the driver, the compensation of the insurance company will be cumbersome.
The second accident took place at the path near the house which I live in. Two days ago when I passed by the path, I saw the front of a car hit a tree and was deformed to a v shape. The tree about a bowl of diameter was bumped down entirely. I didn’t know what caused the accident. I could only guess to repair this car would cost much.
The third was my brother who is my young sister’s husband. He is also lying on the bed now. Two days ago he carried his little son on an electronic cycle, and somehow the cycle was slipped into a ditch. Consequently his leg was wounded to bone-crack. The doctor required he should use plaster to fix his leg, but he refused because he thought it was not bone-broken, fixing the leg will limit him and engender inconvenience. He is the migrating worker in Wuhan city. Every year he will return his hometown with his children and his wife to spend the Spring Festival. It is still uncertain weather he will come back his hometown or stay in Wuhan.
With the coming of Spring Festival, the police enforce the patrol around the main road. The purpose is to reduce the traffic accident during this special time. It is the case the traffic accident in Chinese nationwide festival will increase much more than the ordinary day. Many people tend to being negligent of safety problem. They drive the car after drinking the wine too much in the banquet of festival.
