It is always the case that just at the beginning of the new term, the parents are deciding on what training center they should choose for their children to attend. Generally, those courses might include Math, Chinese, English, of course other art courses also included. The parents all hold the expectation that by means of extra training their children could achieve a more satisfactory result in their performance. Definitely, the children nowadays are more burdened than decades ago. The parents who send their children to the part time course naturally are nourishing a good hope for their children who could face the rat-race in the future and seek a contented job.
No doubt, I am also embroiled in the tide. Last night, my wife raised her question whether we should prepare for our child to attend a training course apart from his music training. For the consideration of preventing my son’s eyesight from further declining, my son was exempt from attending other training course. We worried about his sight very much. During the summer vacation, I took my son to the eye hospital and checked his sight. As my estimation, his sight has dropped severely again. Now he wears a pair of glass up to 500 degrees more. Facing this reality, we felt shiftless.
After consulting with my wife, we decided finally to contact a math teacher who is the husband of my wife’s colleague. He is in a primary school and owns years of teaching and training experience. Maybe it is under his guidance and supervision, his daughter has performed well all the way in her math subject. And now she is in an up-class senior high school in Wuhan. I don’t know whether the achievement of his daughter is attributable to her innate wisdom or her parents (in particular her father) teaching efforts. Nevertheless, he often gives the part time lessons to the pupils as a means of sourcing the extra income stream.
As scheduled, he will come to my home today early morning. According to his consideration, he would have a pre-assessment for my son’s capacity in math, and then he could figure out an appropriate plan for teaching. Frankly saying, my son’s math ability is just in a normal level for he failed several times to obtain the eligible test in his school by which the students could be selected to the class of Olympic math. Of course, the arrangement for his training course could help him maintain at least or develop his math ability further.
By the way, my son’s little cousin (my young sister’s son) will also come to my home for a jointed lesson with my son.
