Tomorrow will be Children's Day. It will be my son's final festival of Children's Day. Yesterday, my son asked me what gift I wanted to send to him when we had dinner. I asked him why he wanted me to send him a gift. He answered because it was his final Children's Day. I thought a while and didn't know what I could send him. I said finally I would arrange a movie for him, but he said his mother would not agree. I though it was ture his mother was much stricter with him than me on his study. Maybe during the Children's Day he can only have half a day to play with his cousin.

Today afternoon, my son's school allowed them to see a movie in the classroom to spend the festival. The Chilldren's Day is on Saturday, so they enjoyed the festival in advance. Perhaps the teacher will assign less homework than normal weekend.

My son has experienced Children's Day over ten times since he entered the kindergarten. However, I should say the festival spent in the kindergarten was the most interesting festival for my son. The Children's Day has been insipid since children went to primary school. There was no special activity to commemorate the festival except having half a day rest or organizing a meeting to award the excellent students at school.

Unfortunately, for Chinese children, the special and playful memory is mainly on the stage of kindergarten period. The students have been deprived of the freedom of being animated willfully due to the high pressure arising from school and family.

I still remember several activities organized by the kindergarten. One activity was arranged at the square of south No.1 gate of the campus. The children collectively performed a program named Chinese Kongfu. Each child had a small drum on the waist, and they beat the drum and chorused together elatedly. The parents stood around the team, finding out their child and then taking photos, clapping their hands when the program was finished. Every child was so lovely and just like the twittering little bird, cuddling at the arms of their parents after the performance. The parents were all immersed in the sea of excitement with their children.

Another activity was organized in the classroom of the kindergarten. We parents were informed of taking part in the acitvity of the relationship between parents and children. The kindergarten asked the parents to prepare a program that would co-play with a group of children. Some prepared to tell a story, most of the parents prepared to play games, and I prepared to show a magic called the twin bananas. The magic bewildered the children. They didn't know why one banana was cut by me, then the other banana was also cut automatically. It was just like the twins, one of the twins felt stomach-ache,  the other felt same. Finally, I explained the answer to them and taught them how to perform this majic. At that time, my son was attracted by other parents, because he had seen what I had done at home.

The children's day will say farewell to my son and the students at grade two of senior high school. He will be a youngser formally after tomorrow. Really, my heart is full of untold feelings now. Even I feel a little sad for those students before the Children's Day. Chinese education system has been engulfing the creativity, gift, and freedom of the Chinese juveniles.
